It is believed that the first cupcake was made in 1796 by Amelia Simmons, an American cookbook author. It was and still is cake baked in small cups (hence the name). The cupcake has evolved from being called “number cakes” because of how easy it was to remember the measurement of the ingredients used to make them, to a wider variety of ingredients, decorations and measurements.

Cupcakes are easier and quicker to make and so, have become a world popular trend in the fast food world. Cupcakes are absolutely delish… so much that is now being used as a reference for enjoyable situations. For example, “friendship is like sharing a sweet cupcake.”

I just love all the different decorations one can use to make these beautiful little things…from different flavours to different frosting colours, chips, candies and even sprinkles.

My favourite kind of cupcake will always be chocolate and strawberry frosting with some chocolate chips on it.

So, are you attracted to cupcakes just like me? And what is your favourite flavour of all?
