The Canada Council for the Arts has announced the opening of applications for The Jules Léger Prize for New Chamber Music, to last till June 1.
The Jules Léger Prize, established in 1978, was created to encourage Canadian professional composers to create avant-garde chamber music and to foster its performance by Canadian ensembles. It is an annual award, last won by the composer Kelly-Marie Murphy, for her composition entitled Coffee Will be Served in the Living Room (2018).
The prize money to be awarded in this year’s event is $7,500. You can find out more about this award here.
